Day #14 of my birthday.

I know you’re thinking – birthday month? Yes. I get the entire month of June to celebrate my birthday. No it’s not excessive. It’s really my mother’s fault (I’m sure every daughter has said that before. LOL). You see – my sister is 10 years older than me and I remember when I was around 5 or 6 my mother started to extend my birthday. At first it was just day or so around my birthday and then it was the week. I think she was concerned I would have a complex since I was essentially an only child as of 8. Despite her efforts I still had a complex, so my birthday extended itself into a month long ordeal. And now I am a 20-something and still celebrate 30 days of Sarah. A little vain, I know but I don’t care.

We are almost at the mid-way point in my birthday month extravaganza and I must admit this might be the best birthday I have ever had. In fact, in reviewing the last two weeks – I can’t seem to comprehend all the amazing stuff that has happened. I’ve gotten great presents – cake, Coach, owls, money, etc., eaten amazing food, gotten a pedi, shared good times with friends, won an all expense paid trip (!!!), went to a Reds game for free and sat almost directly behind home plate, laughed till I cried, cried ’cause I wanted to and so much more. And still to come – I am going swim, bond and celebrate with the most fabulous people in my life and sit second row to see Wicked. I’m not sure how much more awesomeness I can handle…but I am willing to push it to the limit. :)

I’m a lucky girl. I really truly am.

Now for Day #15….

We tend to extend birthdays a lot in our family. Everyone gets most of the week at very least.

I think the idea of a month-long birthday is excellent! August will be my month, so I’d better start planning for it now! By the way, your daughter is adorable; I don’t blame you for not wanting her to grow up. Unfortunately, you mother is right. My “boys” are now 38 and 40! Although I can’t complain–they’ve given me six grandchildren, who are now growing up also!

I just stopped by from SITS to say hello. I hope you find time to return the visit.

I extend and celebrate my birthday twice a year. 1/4 and 7/4. Since I get ripped off due to Christmas and everyone’s “New Year’s Resolutions.” :)

I’m a firm believer in celebrating month long!!! Happy Belated Birthday :)
